About the BioZorb Breast Marker Lawsuit
The BioZorb implantable surgical marker, manufactured by Hologic, Inc., was marketed as a 3D bioabsorbable device used to mark the site of breast tissue removal after lumpectomy. The device was intended to assist with radiation targeting and surgical follow-up imaging.
However, numerous women have reported severe complications such as:
- Persistent breast pain and inflammation
- Infection and abscess formation
- Implant extrusion through the skin
- Disfigurement or deformity
- Chronic fibrosis or tissue hardening
Plaintiffs allege that Hologic failed to properly warn patients and surgeons about these risks and that the BioZorb device was defectively designed and unreasonably dangerous for its intended use.
