The Roblox Addiction Lawsuit is an active lawsuit

Roblox Addiction Lawsuit

Roblox, a platform marketed as safe for kids, has faced mounting lawsuits over child exploitation, unsafe moderation, and predator access. Our legal team is fighting to hold Roblox and Discord accountable for failing to protect minors online.

Roblox Lawsuit – Holding Roblox and Discord Accountable

Roblox, a platform marketed as a safe and fun gaming site for children and teens, has instead become a tool for predators to exploit vulnerable users. The company’s lack of effective safety measures, in pursuit of profit, has led to increasing reports of explicit content and the sexual exploitation of minors.

Even worse, predators often use Discord—a chat app connected to Roblox communities—to continue communication with children and further their abuse. Our legal team is committed to holding Roblox and Discord accountable for putting children at risk and to fighting for justice for families who have been harmed.

Compromised Safety

In 2024, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation added Roblox to its Dirty Dozen List—an annual campaign that highlights twelve mainstream companies accused of enabling and profiting from sexual exploitation.

Roblox was added to the National Center on Sexual Exploitation’s 2024 Dirty Dozen List for profiting from unsafe practices and exposing children to predators.

Despite mounting reports and multiple high-profile incidents, Roblox reported a 2% decline in trust and safety expenses year over year. While the company has implemented new parental controls for children under 13, these protections do not extend to users over 13. Even for younger users, creating a fake age profile bypasses restrictions with ease.

Other major safety issues include:

  • No reliable age verification for accessing explicit content or chatrooms

  • Outsourced moderation to overseas call centers, unable to handle the scale of interactions

  • Inability to permanently ban predators, with groups flagged for violations often remaining active

Long-Standing Reports of Abuse

Roblox and Discord have repeatedly been used by predators to exploit minors:

  • 2019: A predator in Florida used Roblox and Discord to coerce children ages 10–12 into sending nude images.

  • Robux exploitation: A registered sex offender bribed an 8-year-old girl with Robux (the platform’s currency) in exchange for nude videos—an instance where Roblox directly profited from the abuse.

  • 2024: A man from Chile traveled to the United States to meet a young girl he had groomed on Roblox.

Reports show predators using Roblox and Discord to exploit children, including incidents in 2019, Robux bribery cases, and a 2024 international grooming case.

These examples demonstrate a pattern of exploitation that Roblox has failed to prevent.

Why Roblox Should Be Held Accountable

Roblox markets itself as a safe, child-friendly environment but continues to:

  • Provide false assurance to parents and families

  • Profit from the exploitation of children through Robux and unsafe platform practices

  • Ignore years of reports, warnings, and mounting evidence of abuse

This negligence and betrayal of trust demand accountability.
